Technical Workshop on Ground Engineering & Reinforced Soil Techniques
On 24 Apr. 2026, DMRC Academy successfully conducted a one-day technical workshop on “Ground Engineering and Reinforced Soil Techniques.” The programme witnessed participation from officials across various levels, including CREs, Managers, and Junior Engineers. Expert sessions by industry specialists covered key areas such as reinforced soil structures, ground stabilization, slope protection, and geosynthetics. The workshop also included interactive discussions and case studies, enhancing practical understanding. The programme was widely appreciated for its technical depth and practical relevance, reaffirming the Academy’s commitment to capacity building and excellence in civil engineering practices.

DMRC–INSEAD Leadership Development Program (LDP)
DMRC Academy, in collaboration with INSEAD, successfully conducted the Leadership Development Program (LDP) “Shaping Leaders for Future” in April 2026. The program was delivered in two modules — Delhi (08–10 April) and Singapore (15–17 April) — the program brought together senior officers from 10 metro organisations and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The program at DMRC Academy covered key themes such as Digital Transformation, Project Management, AI, and Strategic Leadership, complemented by technical visits and global faculty sessions. The module at Singapore featured sessions by distinguished INSEAD faculty on customer-centric leadership, ecosystem-based strategic thinking, Blue Ocean Strategy, and change management through simulation-based learning. The program received excellent feedback and emerged as a benchmark initiative combining DMRC’s operational expertise with INSEAD’s global leadership excellence to develop future-ready leaders for India’s urban mobility sector.

SADHANA Saptah Workshops
In line with directions from Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs under Mission Karmayogi – SADHANA Saptah (02–08 April 2026), DMRC Academy successfully organised a series of three theme-based workshops in physical mode. Aligned with the pillars of Technology, Tradition, and Tangible Outcomes, the workshops covered topics including AI & Cyber Security in Metro Systems (03–04 April), Indian Knowledge Systems in Governance (06 April), and Digitalisation in Passenger Services (07 April). The sessions witnessed active participation from DMRC officials and focused on emerging technologies, governance practices, and citizen-centric service delivery. The initiative was successfully implemented within the stipulated timeline, reinforcing DMRC’s commitment to capacity building, ethical governance, and innovation-driven public service delivery.

On 27 Mar. 2026, DMRC Academy hosted a learning visit of officers from Central and State Government Services pursuing MBA (Financial Management) at Arun Jaitley National Institute of Financial Management. DMRC Signs MoU with INSEAD – The Business School for the World, Singapore
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with INSEAD, The Business School for the World, Singapore on 23 Mar. 2026 to strengthen capacity building and foster professional excellence across the Metro sector through participative and immersive learning. The MoU aims to deepen understanding of Metro rail management from strategic, business, and customer satisfaction perspectives. It also provides a structured platform for the seamless exchange of knowledge, ideas, and expertise between DMRC Academy and INSEAD Singapore. This collaboration brings together DMRC’s domain expertise in Urban Transport & Metro Rail Systems with INSEAD’s global academic excellence in leadership, strategy, and management education. The MoU reflects the shared commitment of both organisations to advancing skills, promoting innovation, and adopting global best practices, thereby contributing to the continued growth and modernization of urban transportation systems. The MoU was signed by Sh. Ghansham Bansal, Director General/ DMRC Academy and Professor Sameer Hasija, Dean Executive Education & Asia Campus-INSEAD, Singapore in presence of Dr. Vikas Kumar, MD/ DMRC and other senior officials.

I-Metro Workshop on Grades of Automation at DMRC Academy
DMRC Academy successfully hosted the I-Metro Workshop on “Grades of Automation” on 13 Mar. 2026. The one-day program brought together officials from seven Indian metro systems, focusing on key aspects of metro Signalling and Automation—including CBTC standards, Grades of Automation, and UTO command & control. The workshop strengthened participants technical and operational capabilities in modern metro signalling and reaffirmed DMRC Academy’s commitment to delivering industry-oriented, high-quality capacity building for the metro sector. During the valedictory ceremony, Advisor/S&T Coordination Sh. Arun Kumar highlighted the importance of emerging signalling technologies, including DMRC’s pioneering UTO implementation as India’s first metro system, AI-driven predictive maintenance and mixed AR/VR applications.

On 13 Mar. 2026, DMRC Academy successfully conducted a one-day technical workshop on “Techniques of Rail Welding and Ultrasonic Flaw Detection (USFD) Testing.” The programme saw participation from 36 officials, including representatives from National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited, Kochi Metro Rail Limited, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited, and Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited. Expert sessions by Indian Railways Institute of Civil Engineering (Pune) and industry specialists were complemented by hands-on training on USFD of AT welds. The workshop was widely appreciated for its practical approach and technical depth, reaffirming the Academy’s commitment to capacity building and excellence in metro rail systems.

Visit of Defence Officials led by Major General C. J. Jayachandran, ADGE (PERS)
On 11 Mar. 2026, Maj Gen C. J. Jayachandran led delegation visited DMRC Academy to gain insights into the training infrastructure and capacity-building initiatives of DMRC. The officials were given a detailed presentation on the Academy and its facilities. Following the presentation, the officials were given a guided tour of the training facility. The officials appreciated the Academy stating “It was a privilege seeing the training facilities of one of the premier training institutes in the country. Exploring Heritage and Governance: Our Learning Visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan and Amrit Udyan
On 25 Feb. 2026, DMRC Academy’s Faculty members and officials undertook an official learning visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan and Amrit Udyan under the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) initiative. The visit was organized to provide enriching exposure to India’s constitutional heritage, governance framework, and institutional legacy. Participants gained valuable insights into the functioning of the highest constitutional office of the country, its historical evolution, architectural grandeur, and administrative significance. The visit to Amrit Udyan further offered an appreciation of India’s rich horticultural traditions and cultural ethos. On 20 Feb. 2026, DMRC Academy organized an insightful session titled “Mind Matters: Stress-Free Mind in a High-Performance Environment” in line with the principles of the Indian Knowledge System. DMRC Academy successfully conducted a one-day technical workshop on “Advancements in Traction System” for Indian Metro Rail Organizations’ Society (iMETRO), aimed at enhancing technical knowledge, sharing best practices, and discussing emerging innovations in metro traction technology. The workshop witnessed active participation from engineers and technical professionals representing various metro rail corporations across India. The sessions focused on the latest developments in traction technology, SCADA systems, and financial sustainability through renewable energy integration, while promoting standardization of best practices among iMETRO member organizations. Interactive discussions, Q&A sessions, and expert-led experience sharing enabled participants to deliberate on operational challenges, including traction failures and energy management solutions. DMRC Academy proudly represented its innovation-driven initiatives at the Sonipat Start-up Summit 2026, where the Metro Innovation Centre of Excellence (MICE) was showcased among leading exhibitors, investors, and emerging start-ups from across the region. The Academy’s stall attracted significant attention from investors, start-ups, industry representatives, and college students, who explored collaboration opportunities and gained insights into DMRC’s innovation ecosystem and incubation possibilities.
A key highlight of the summit was the panel discussion featuring our respected Director General who shared valuable insights on strengthening incubation and start up growth in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. His perspectives on enabling regional innovation ecosystems and fostering industry–academia collaboration were highly appreciated. The session witnessed an enthusiastic participation of approximately 1000 attendees, including start-ups, industry leaders, and students, making it an engaging and insightful interaction.

On 04 February 2026, DMRC Academy organized an educational visit for trainees of the reshuffling batch (Train Operations to Station Operations) to Rashtrapati Bhavan and Amrit Udyan as part of its long-duration training programme. The visit provided valuable experiential exposure to India’s constitutional framework, governance system, architectural heritage, and environmental sustainability initiatives. Customized Foundation Training for Alstom Transportation India Limited Officials
DMRC Academy organised Customized Foundation Training for 52 officials of Alstom Transportation India Limited to enhance their technical knowledge and operational readiness. The programme was structured in two batches of eight days each. The first batch underwent training from 29 Dec. 2025 to 6 Jan. 2026, while the second batch attended from 19 Jan. 2026 to 29 Jan. 2026. The training provided participants with essential foundational knowledge and practical exposure, equipping them to efficiently contribute to metro operations and maintenance activities.

Cultural Evening on the occasion of 77th Republic Day
On 23 Jan. 2026, on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day of India, DMRC Academy organised a cultural evening to commemorate the spirit of democracy, unity, and national pride. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising knowledge, integrity, and the guiding values of the nation, followed by Saraswati Vandana and a series of soulful cultural performances. The cultural evening provided a meaningful platform to reinforce the values of patriotism, discipline, and collective responsibility among officers, faculty members, and trainees of the Academy, in alignment with DMRC’s enduring ethos of service to the nation.

Workshop on “Art of Contract Management”
DMRC Academy organised Workshop on “Art of Contract Management” from 19 to 23 Jan. 2026. The five days’ workshop covered a wide range of topics, including tendering and contract management processes, legal aspects, General Conditions of Contract, comparison of Indian contract conditions with FIDIC provisions, case studies, common contractual pitfalls, negotiation skills, and interactive sessions with experts. An exclusive interaction with the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) was also part of the programme. The workshop was attended by 22 nominated participants from DMRC, representing various organisational levels and diverse functional backgrounds, facilitating rich discussions and practical learning.

DMRC Academy organised a one-day workshop on “Public Procurement & Tendering” under Centre of Excellence in Tunnelling and Underground Space Engineering (CETUSE) on 9 Jan. 2026. The workshop was attended by 13 nominated participants from DMRC, representing various organisational levels and diverse functional backgrounds including Architecture, Civil Construction, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), and Design. The programme featured expert sessions on “Procurement through GeM” and “Tendering in Works”. The workshop included discussions on public procurement processes through GeM, tendering procedures for works, and analysis of relevant case studies, providing participants with practical insights and enhanced understanding of procurement and tendering practices.
