To provide an actual tunnel experience to trainees, DMRC Academy has developed a true-scale tunnel model within the Academy premises, comprising actual installations of walkway, ROCS, system cables, cross passage, PTM line, fire line, emergency lights, and ballast less track with station platform. This facility has been created to eradicate night time training in actual tunnels during traffic block. Ring building assembly and extrados have been provided for real-time understanding. The length of the tunnel is 24.5 meters with a 5.8-meter internal diameter.

An actual cutter head is available at DMRC Academy near the true-scale tunnel model. Its diameter is 6.55 meters. Cutter head of Tunnel Boring Machine is important part of a TBM, which is fixed in front of the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), and it excavates soils and rock strata encountered during tunnelling works.

Two studio rooms, each with a seating capacity of 30 trainees, are equipped with all smart class features, such as an interactive display panel, digital podium, acoustic treatments, and video conferencing and lecture recording facilities for distance learning.

The Centre of Excellence in Tunnelling has a Civil Engineering Lab equipped with advanced tools, instruments, and testing machines to analyse the properties and performance of materials used in Underground Space Engineering. This lab provides a controlled environment for conducting experiments, ensuring precision and repeatability. Some of the installed testing equipment includes: SFRC (Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete) Beam Testing Machine, CAPO (Cut & Pull Out) Test Kit, Concrete Resistivity Meter, Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Meter, Windsor Probe Test, Core Cutter Kits, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), ERT (Electrical Resistivity Test) Apparatus, SRT (Seismic Refraction Test) Apparatus, and Pulse Meter.

The Tunnel Technology Research Lab serves as a central hub for establishing incubation centres for start-ups working in the field of Tunnelling and Underground Space Engineering. The Centre of Excellence in Tunnelling supports these start-ups with innovative ideas by providing space, testing facilities, and networks to help transform their solutions into reality.
